SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Wounded Veterans Fishing Challenge hosted by the Sarasota Yacht Club is in its sixth year. The event partners with the organization No Person Left Behind Outdoors to bring together veterans and their spouses for a two-day event focused on collaboration.
“The charity helps them get confidence back that they can participate in society with their impairments,” said Frank Creede, one of the event organizers and a member of the Sarasota Yacht Club.
The event begins with a meet-and-greet cocktail hour on the first night. The following day takes the veterans out on the water to fish while the spouses are treated to a day on a yacht sailing around Sarasota Bay with brunch…
