Burn ban prompts symphony to trade fireworks for drone show in Venice

VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) – Drought conditions across the Suncoast are prompting changes in upcoming celebrations, replacing the rocket’s red glare with the glow of LED lights.

The Venice Symphony has announced that instead of fireworks, its Patriotic Pops Concert May 23 at CoolToday Park will feature a drone show.

“Due to current drought conditions and a local fire department burn ban, this year’s traditional fireworks finale will be reimagined as a spectacular state-of-the-art aerial drone light show,” the Symphony said in a news release…
