Defendant in Palmetto road rage shooting asks for trial delay

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – Lawyers for the man accused of trying to kill five people — including a pregnant woman — during a 2024 road rage incident in Palmetto is asking for his trial to be delayed, court records show.

Prosecutors say 52-year-old Vincent Steele fired multiple rounds from his weapon at a family during the incident on U.S. 41.

Steele’s attorneys have asked for a continuance, saying one of their key witnesses suffered a stroke over the weekend…
