SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A Venice man arrested February 20th, 2026 in connection with a murder committed nearly two years ago returned to court Wednesday morning for a motion hearing at the Sarasota County Courthouse.
75-year-old Ronald Racki’s defense attorney filing an amended motion to return property that was seized upon Racki’s arrest. The property in question is a briefcase containing important documents for Racki’s business. The briefcase was seized along with Racki’s truck when he was arrested in February of 2026 while on his way to work. It is important to note that the truck Racki was driving when he was arrested was a different truck than the one that contained DNA evidence allegedly linking Racki to Laikyn West’s disappearance from September of 2024.
