Hot and humid on Memorial Day, but a wetter pattern is about to develop

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Sunday begins warm and humid with partly sunny skies and morning temperatures in the upper 70s. Afternoon highs will reach the lower 90s inland, with heat index values in the mid to upper 90s. A southeast breeze will shift southerly during the afternoon as the sea breeze moves inland. Scattered thunderstorms are expected late in the day and into the evening, especially inland. Some storms may produce gusty winds and heavy downpours before moving offshore around midnight.

Memorial Day will bring another hot and humid afternoon with highs near 92. Most of the day will stay dry, but scattered thunderstorms are expected after 2 PM and into the evening. Warm overnight temperatures will continue through Tuesday morning, generally in the mid 70s.
