Pfizer building has concerning history of violations, records show

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) — The old Pfizer building being converted into a residential development has a history of violations, according to building records.

The building at 235 East 42nd St., as well as a wide-ranging area surrounding it, were evacuated Tuesday after columns inside the construction site began to buckle, causing floors 21-26 to cave in, officials and witnesses said.
