NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — City officials are warning New Yorkers that air quality will worsen on Wednesday due to a combination of elevated ozone levels and wildfire smoke moving into the region from Canada.
Smoke from wildfires may result in hazy skies and low visibility, according to the National Weather Service.

New Yorkers are encouraged to limit strenuous outdoor activity and to stay indoors as much as possible.
In response to the wildfire smoke, free KN95 masks will be available at the following locations:
- Bronx Library Center in the Bronx
- Brooklyn Public Library locations
- Queens Public Library locations
- St. George Library Center in Staten Island
- Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (main branch) in Manhattan
