NEW JERSEY (PIX11) — A code red air quality alert is in effect Thursday for New York City, Long Island, and portions of New Jersey.
Air quality index levels are expected to reach unhealthy levels for portions of the tri-state area as smoke from wildfires in Canada continues to pour into our region, according to the Department of Environmental Protection.
