A 41-year-old man was slashed across his left eye and right ear early Monday in Ocean Hill, and police are still hunting for the attacker who ran off on foot. Officers responded to a stabbing call in front of 171 Rockaway Avenue just before 2 a.m., and the injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is expected to recover.
The victim was transported by EMS to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, according to News12 Brooklyn, which first reported the attack. Brookdale, located at 1 Brookdale Plaza and operated under One Brooklyn Health, is a Level II Trauma Center that provides around-the-clock surgical care for major violent trauma across eastern Brooklyn, per the New York State Department of Health. As of Monday morning, no arrest had been made, and the police investigation into the slashing remained ongoing.
Police sources say the suspect fled southbound on Rockaway Avenue, the same getaway route used in an April double shooting on nearby Herkimer Street that Hoodline covered at the time, when a gunman also vanished down Rockaway. The recurrence of that same corridor as an escape path has become a familiar pattern for investigators working violent crime cases in the neighborhood.

The 73rd Precinct also runs specialized Quality-of-Life Teams along key commercial corridors in the area, including retail stretches near Rockaway Avenue and Belmont Avenue, where foot patrols address neighborhood complaints…
