Meet the Renew Crew

Mamdani and Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura announced the launch of Renew Crew, a new 24-person team of painters, electricians, plumbers, and other trade specialists whose entire job is knocking out the repairs New Yorkers notice most, according to the Mayor’s Office’s official announcement.

Repainting chipped playground equipment, fixing broken fences, replacing worn protective flooring, patching up sports courts, this is the stuff that makes a park feel neglected long before anything structurally serious goes wrong…
