A social media campaign is drawing attention to the legal battle surrounding Queen Mother Delois Blakey, a longtime Harlem resident whose supporters allege she is being targeted in a disputed property ownership case.
Advocacy groups and community activists have rallied behind Blakey, describing her as an elder who has owned her home for nearly five decades and is now fighting to protect it.
Among those calling attention to the case is Stop Deed Theft, a grassroots alliance of deed-theft victims, organizations, advocates and community leaders. The group has urged supporters to help raise funds for legal fees and attend court proceedings related to Blakey’s case.
