BRONX, N.Y. – A man was shot in the leg Sunday morning after confronting an intruder who was allegedly trying to steal work supplies from a residential building in the Bronx, according to the NYPD.
The confrontation happened at about 11:30 a.m. inside 508 East 163rd Street in the 42nd Precinct. Police said the 47-year-old victim discovered an unidentified person inside an area restricted to authorized personnel.
- Police said the suspect was attempting to leave the building with work supplies when the victim confronted him.
- A physical struggle followed before the suspect allegedly pulled a gun and fired, striking the victim in the leg.
- The gunman escaped on foot and remained wanted as police appealed to the public for information.
