Tour bus driver sentenced in I-90 crash that killed 5

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The driver in a tour bus crash that killed five people and injured dozens was sentenced Wednesday to six months in jail, five years of shock probation and 12 weeks of community service.

Bin Shao was sentenced after pleading guilty to five counts of criminally negligent homicide, admitting that he lost control while driving the bus. Shao has already served the six-month jail sentence.

In 2025, Shao was driving a bus carrying more than 50 people from Niagara Falls to New York City when he lost control, crossed into the median and flipped into a ditch along I-90 near Pembroke. Five people died, and dozens more were injured…
