NEW YORK (NEXSTAR) – Ohara’s Restaurant and Pub in Lower Manhattan has always been a first responder bar. It’s right next to a fire station and across the street from the World Trade Center grounds.
So, it wasn’t necessarily significant that several firefighters were there the morning of Sept. 11, 2001. That is, of course, before the first plane hit the North Tower at 8:46 a.m.
The first responders, who O’hara’s co-owner Michael Keane has met over the years, ran back to the fire station, got their gear and rushed to the buildings…
