A new storm will deliver an uneven soaking across the Northeast, with some communities facing heavier downpours and a greater chance of localized flooding.
The National Weather Service expects widespread rain Sunday, Sept. 20, into Sunday night. Its Saturday, Sept. 19, update lowered the flood threat around New York City as projected rainfall totals declined. Most locations in its forecast area should receive about 2 inches or less.
