A straphanger was killed in a freak accident when his backpack got caught in the subway door during rush hour Monday night — and he fell onto the tracks, according to police.
The unidentified man was exiting a northbound train at the Utica Avenue station in Brooklyn around 5:50 p.m. when witnesses said his bag got trapped in the doors as the train started to pull away.
