A state grand jury has voted not to file criminal charges against a Jersey City police sergeant who fatally shot a 26-year-old Hudson County man last year.
Steven Sanchez, of Jersey City, was killed during an encounter with police on Sept. 5, 2025, in which he refused to drop a weapon, which was later determined to be an air pistol.
