Waitress saves 96-year-old Brooklyn restaurant from closing

COBBLE HILL, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A Brooklyn institution, an iconic Cobble Hill restaurant, has been saved all because a waitress from a nearby restaurant fell in love with the place.

That restaurant is called Sam’s and it has been on Court Street since 1930. A 37-year-old Georgia Fulton is the savior of Sam’s.

The family-owned, red-sauce, Italian restaurant had been serving customers at the same spot on Court Street for 96 years. But when the last family member, Lou Migliaccio, decided to retire at age 69, many thought that would be the end of Sam’s, but not Georgia Fulton, a server at nearby Long Island Bar.
