New York has plenty of opinions about Italian food and pasta in particular, but now Yelp has added its own: two NYC businesses landed in the top 10 of its first-ever ranking of America’s best pasta places.
Brooklyn’s Forma Pasta Factory took No. 3, while Borgatti’s Ravioli & Egg Noodles in the Bronx claimed No. 10. The list covers 100 restaurants, markets and pasta shops nationwide, giving equal billing to places that cook your dinner and those that send you home with the ingredients.
Forma’s original Greenpoint shop blends a pasta-making operation with a fast-casual restaurant, so you can watch the noodles come together before getting acquainted with them over lunch. Chef Amit Rabinovich’s dough uses New York City tap water—the same ingredient that gets so much credit for our bagels—and the pasta is extruded and air-cured for up to 72 hours, according to Yelp.
