A BMW slammed into a utility pole, guardrail and retaining wall on Route 17 early Saturday, Oct. 17, triggering a second crash, power outages and road closures, authorities said (scroll for video).
The 2013 black BMW sedan was heading south near Biggie’s Restaurant in Carlstadt around 4:46 a.m. when it veered off the roadway, Carlstadt Police Sgt. Mark Wong said.
Responding officers pulled the driver from the wreckage and began treating him before he was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with facial injuries. One officer suffered minor cuts while helping free the driver and was also being treated, police said…
