NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln — Reported Site of NICU Capital Award
Montefiore Einstein has unveiled a newly renovated labor and delivery suite at Jack D. Weiler Hospital in the Bronx, a $9.68 million overhaul of the facility. The upgraded unit, located on the sixth floor at 1825 Eastchester Road, now includes labor and delivery rooms with ensuite bathrooms, a reconfigured clinician team station, and six triage bays plus one evaluation triage bay for incoming patients.
The renovation, funded by a New York Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program grant, also added a maternal surgical suite and a dedicated post-anesthesia care unit with four bays for cesarean-section patients, according to PR Newswire. Three delivery room operating rooms received upgrades as well, and Montefiore Einstein invested in remote monitoring tools for both patients and clinical teams, along with new food options meant to improve the overall patient experience. The hospital says the work was carried out in phases to avoid interrupting patient care, with five of six phases now complete; the final phase, covering the last two labor and delivery rooms and an upgrade to the back service elevator, is planned for completion in early 2027.
