The 40-year-old suspect was taken into custody
Three NYPD officers were attacked by a man wielding a machete in Brooklyn on Monday.
A sergeant was slashed on the side of the head as he tried to take the suspect into custody, CBS News New York reported. He was transported to Kings County Hospital with minor injuries. He was conscious, alert and in stable condition, according to WABC .
One officer was slashed on the wrist and the other was slashed on the shoulder. They were taken to Kings County Hospital for evaluation.
All three officers are expected to be okay, according to CBS News.
The officers were responding to a report of an emotionally disturbed person inside an apartment building in East Flatbush. When they arrived at around 3:20 p.m., they found a 40-year-old man acting irrationally, according to the station.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Brookdale Hospital.
Charges against him are pending.
