Man, 31, stabbed in face with screwdriver near Times Square following dispute over cigarette

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was stabbed in the face with a screwdriver near Times Square following a dispute over a cigarette Tuesday evening, authorities said.

At approximately 7:20 p.m. in front of 151 W. 43rd St., officers discovered a 31-year-old man with a stab wound to his face.

According to an investigation, the victim was attacked after the suspect asked the victim for a cigarette and he declined.

The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

The attacker fled the location in an unknown direction.

No weapon was recovered and an investigation remains ongoing.
