Severed head found in woman’s fridge, she is charged and victim is ID’d

Heather Stines, a resident of New York City, has been apprehended by authorities following the discovery of human remains within a refrigerator in a Brooklyn apartment.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) disclosed that on Monday, they uncovered a deceased individual inside an apartment located on Nostrand Avenue. Acting on a tip, law enforcement conducted a search of the residence, leading to the recovery of body parts, including a human head, found inside a sealed refrigerator.

Heather Stines, aged 45 and a resident of the apartment, has been arrested in connection with this disturbing discovery. She faces charges of concealing a human corpse. The NYPD has indicated that the sealed refrigerator has raised suspicions, and the case is currently under investigation as a potential homicide.

Investigators have identified the victim as Kawsheen Gelzer, as reported by NBC.

A neighbor residing in the same building spoke to the New York Daily News, recounting Stines’ reaction to the situation. The neighbor, Germaine Roberts, shared that Stines appeared to be in distress, exclaiming, “Oh my God, I’m going to jail.” According to Roberts, authorities did not allow Stines access to the apartment.
