New York City Man Found Dismembered in Fridge Was ‘Not a Drug Dealer,’ Family Says

Heather Stines, 45, was charged after Gelzer’s decapitated body was removed from her freezer

The family of a New York City man found dismembered in a Brooklyn apartment say that their relative was “not a drug dealer” after the New York Police Department linked the killing to a narcotics dispute.

“He was a very good person,” Kawsheen Gelzer’s brother told the New York Daily News . “He wasn’t a drug dealer or bad person. He had a family who always loved him and cared about him.”

Gelzer, 40, was found dead last week in Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighborhood . Heather Stines, 45, was charged with concealment of a human corpse after Gelzer’s decapitated body was removed from her freezer.

Stines allegedly became combative when police searched her apartment. She also alleged that her husband, who is currently imprisoned in Virginia, killed Gelzer. The victim’s death was ruled a homicide that police believe was linked to narcotics, according to WNBC .

Police allege that Gelzer was known to be a drug dealer and may have had a conflict with Stines and her husband Nicholas McGee.
