Police have arrested 30-year-old Deshawn Owens in connection to a dead body that was found in an East Tremont apartment.
Owens now faces charges including criminal possession of a weapon, assault, unlawful imprisonment and kidnapping, among others.
According to police, the body was found inside of the apartment at 800 East 179th Street on Jan. 20. Police arrived at the apartment after a call came in for a wellness check.
It has not been determined how long the body was inside of the apartment before being found.
