NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A 32-year-old man was killed in the Bronx early Saturday morning after getting stabbed in the neck during a large fight, the NYPD said.
At about 3:51 a.m., police responded to a call reporting an assault and stabbing at 435 East 153rd Street, in the Melrose section of the Bronx.
Police said that there was a large brawl outside of the address, and somehow during the scuffle, the victim was stabbed in the neck with an unknown sharp object.
The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead shortly after, officials said. The 32-year-old’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Investigators said that the suspect is a 5’7” bearded man who was wearing a white shirt with black lettering on the side. The suspect fled on foot, authorities said.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
