NYPD searching for man who escaped police custody at Bellevue Hospital

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A man is on the run after escaping from police custody at Bellevue Hospital early Saturday morning, authorities said.

After receiving a stab wound from another crime, first responders transported a 23-year-old man to Bellevue Hospital for treatment, authorities report. Police officers discover that the victim has an open warrant for a traffic violation and arrest him.

Shortly after, police reported that the man snuck out the backdoor of the hospital and is still on the run.
