NYPD officers responding to a dog fight in the Bronx shot and killed one of the dogs after it charged at them, according to police.
Police received a call around 4:15 p.m. reporting a “vicious dog attacking people” outside of 470 E. 161 Street in Melrose, cops said.
A pitbull was in a fight with another dog, sources said. When a male witness tried to separate the pair, the pitbull attacked him.

When cops arrived, the pitbull “charged” at them, according to police.
Officers shot the dog, killing it.
