NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – An armed robbery crew has been targeting people on the streets of the city in recent weeks, with their latest pistol-whipping holdup netting them more than $115,000 in loot.
The NYPD released images Monday showing four suspects sought in the spree, which includes at least four robberies in Manhattan and the Bronx.
In the most recent robbery on Jan. 29, three suspects held up three victims around 7:20 a.m. at 1776 Eastchester Road in the Morris Park section.
The victims—a 40-year-old man, 38-year-old woman and 27-year-old woman—were approached by the robbers in front of a building that’s home to several businesses, including a Chipotle and a Residence Inn by Marriott.
The thieves drove up in a black Honda Accord, brandished a gun and stole the victims’ property, which was valued at $115,500, police said.
During the robbery, one of the thieves pistol-whipped the male victim in the face, according to cops.
The robbers took off in the Honda and were last seen fleeing on Waters Place.
