Man, 19, dies days after found shot in head in Queens

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is investigating after a 19-year-old man died days after he was found shot in the head in Queens, authorities said Tuesday.

Just after 2 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, police responded to a 911 call for a male shot at 67-20 Parsons Blvd. in Pomonok.

Upon arrival, officers observed 19-year-old Jonathan Mendez with a gunshot wound to the head in front of the location.

He was transported by EMS to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens in critical condition.

Mendez died days later on Thursday, Feb. 8.

There are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
