A 16-year-old gangbanger was busted Thursday morning in connection to the wild Bronx rush-hour subway shooting that killed an innocent bystander and wounded five other people this week, police said.
Langel Jones — who is believed to be one of the three gunmen in the 4:40 p.m. Monday shootout at the Mount Eden Avenue station — was picked up by the US Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force and local cops as he left the apartment he shares with his mother in the Bronx, officials confirmed.
“He didn’t make any statements. He requested a lawyer,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny told reporters at a media briefing, saying authorities haven’t recovered any guns involved in the case.
Charges are pending against the boy, a purported member of the violent “DBlock” gang, named for Davidson Avenue, who were tied into a beef with the Burnside gang in a feud stemming from “drill rap and disrespect,” according to Kenny.
