Moped driver, 35, killed in NYC crash with sedan

A man died after his moped collided with another vehicle in the Bronx, police said.

William Cruz, 35, of Manhattan, was fatally injured Friday around 7:40 p.m., cops said.

Cruz was operating a gas-powered moped southbound on Park Avenue, crossing East 183rd Street when he struck the driver’s side of a black sedan traveling eastbound on East 183rd, the NYPD said.

The 35-year-old was initially “conscious and alert” when cops responded to a 911 call to the scene, but later pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital.

The black sedan fled and was last spotted making a right turn onto Washington Avenue from 183rd St., cops said. There have been no arrests.
