4 NYC migrants arrested in failed L.I. car-jacking

A group of migrants with New York City photo I.D.’s have a new place to call home on Long Island: A cell in the county jail.

Welcome to Nassau County!

The four men — now inmates — presented the ID cards to the Nassau County Police on Thursday afternoon in Island Park on Felony attempted robbery charges. Their ID cards list their residence as 23-19 39th Avenue in Long Island City. But what that location is exactly remains unclear; there does not appear to be a building with that specific address in New York.

According to Nassau County Police, the defendants — ages 21 to 36 — surrounded a car parked outside an Ace Hardware store at a shopping center on North Long Beach Road, Island Park.

Witnesses say the car pulled up behind her and blocked her in. Then the four men allegedly got out and surrounded the victim’s car, banging on the car and yelling loudly at the driver.

It’s unclear what they yelled or what language they were yelling in. But one man allegedly yanked the woman’s car door open and tried to pull her out of the car.
