Woman, child hit by vehicle that jumped curb in Harlem

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A woman and child were struck by a vehicle that jumped a curb in Harlem on Wednesday afternoon, the NYPD said.

The collision occurred at 12:45 p.m. at West 131 st Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard, police said.

Officials said that the vehicle, which was headed down Frederick Douglass Boulevard, jumped the curb in an attempt to avoid a previous accident and instead struck the woman and child.

The ages of the victims were not immediately available.

Both victims were transported to an area hospital and are expected to live, according to police.
