Good morning everyone. From coast to coast and in between, we see one system approaching in the West that’ll touch off a round of severe thunderstorms in the Heartland, then quickly trude to the East Coast. We also have a dome of milder air ahead of that upcoming system, and the temperature difference is touching off a few sprinkles in the Tri-State area of the Northeast.

That system out in the West will be the main focus of our forecast as it exits the Rockies and increases the risk of severe storms from Texas and northeast into southern Indiana and lower Ohio. As of now, the line (or lines) of powerful storms look to be thin and brief, especially in the South and Southeast. However, these storms may be capable of damaging straight-line winds, large hail, frequent lightning, and some isolate tornadoes. The line looks wider as we enter the lower Great Lake states, but the risk of severe weather lessens as things march eastward. The timeline for severe weather remains late tomorrow into Wednesday from west to east.
