‘It’s pretty concerning.’ Wildfire smoke looms for the tri-state before tonight’s rain

A hazy sky is expected this afternoon in the tri-state area before rain arrives this evening, due to wildfire smoke from southern U.S. in Louisiana and Mississippi.

New 12 New Jersey’s Lauren Due talked to several residents to see how they’re feeling about the haze across the state.

Hoboken resident Matt Greenlaw says, “I think it’s pretty concerning but it’s still a beautiful day out, so I want to walk outside and get some steps.”

Gillian Lee says, “I remember it very clearly when it happened over the summer. I remember leaving my apartment to look at skyline actually and we took a picture of it because it was it was just so orange. But I didn’t know that it was hazy today so I was literally saying I was going to go for a run, so maybe I’ll rethink that.”
