Woman, 54, punched in unprovoked attack on Bronx bus

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police on Tuesday released surveillance footage of a woman sought for punching another woman in an unprovoked attack on a Bronx bus last week.

At approximately 6:41 p.m. on Monday, April 22, a 54-year-old woman was aboard the BX39 bus at the intersection of White Plains Road and East 215th Street in Olinville, when the suspect punched her in the head, causing her pain, officials said.

The suspect exited the bus at East 219th Street and fled on foot northbound on White Plains Road.

The victim was transported to Montefiore Medical Center in stable condition.

The suspect was last seen wearing a dark blue snorkel jacket with fur and carrying a red handbag.
