Firefighters respond to flames, smoke at home on White Plains Road

Firefighters responded to a fire that broke out at a home on White Plains Road on Friday.

The fire broke out at 344 White Plains Road and heavy smoke covered the area. The FDNY has not said if there were any injuries as a result of the fire.

Fire officials say that the fire originated from a second-floor apartment in the home.

A firefighter was spotted at the scene being taken out on a stretcher. The status of that firefighter and others remains unknown at this time, but the FDNY did confirm that members of the FDNY required medical attention for smoke inhalation.
