After taking two of three from the Angels in the Bronx, the Yankees headed down the coast to take on the Devil Rays in St. Pete. It was a matchup of first and last place teams in the AL East, and it looked every bit of it on this day 25 years ago. With the Red Sox hot on their tail, every win was vital for the Yanks, and a gem from their starter to subdue the Tampa Bay bats was just what the doctor ordered.
