Teenager shot in the Bronx in apparent gang dispute: NYPD

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) β€” A teenager was shot in the Bronx Sunday night, according to the NYPD.

The shooting occurred outside of a subway station in front of 953 Southern Blvd. at around 9:21 p.m., police said.

The 13-year-old from Manhattan was shot twice, in the left shin and the left heel, police said.

A group of 15 to 20 other youths were walking when they engaged in a verbal dispute with two males on Citi Bikes, according to the NYPD.

The males on the Citi Bikes allegedly asked the victim if he is Ewok or if he is β€œtop five,” which is a rival gang in that area, police said. The victim said no, but guns were pulled and the victim was shot.

The teen was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries, according to police. The victim told police he was walking with his cousin to the train to go to a party.

Social media posts indicate that the victim is part of a gang called the EBK, police said.
