DOMESTIC MURDER: Woman, 31, charged with fatally stabbing man in the Bronx

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 31-year-old woman is accused of murdering a man early Sunday morning in what police described as a domestic violence incident.

Karlene Payne was arrested at 12:40 p.m. on Sunday and is charged with second-degree murder, two counts of manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police responded to the vicinity of Lincoln Avenue and East 132nd Street in Mott Haven at 4:14 a.m. on Sunday, and found 36-year-old Joshua Johnson with a laceration to the leg.

EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he succumbed to his injuries.

Further investigation deemed the incident a homicide, and the laceration was identified as a stab wound, police said.

Payne and Johnson lived together at 5 Lincoln Ave., right near the murder scene. Police described their relationship as “domestic in nature.”

A motive for the murder was not immediately clear.
