Large fuel spill reported on Upper East Side: FDNY

NEW YORK (PIX11) – At least 100 gallons of fuel spilled on the Upper East Side early Monday morning, according to the FDNY.

It happened near East 67th Street between 3rd and Lexington avenues. The 19th Precinct was evacuated as a precaution, according to the NYPD.

Firetruck hoses lined the area near the spill, according to video from Citizen App . At least 60 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported. Clean-up efforts are ongoing, according to the FDNY.

It’s not clear what caused the large fuel spill.
