Attacker forces his way into woman’s UES apartment, rapes her

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who broke into an Upper East Side apartment early Saturday morning and raped a 29-year-old woman in her own home.

The heinous attack happened at the woman’s residence near East 92nd Street and First Avenue, in the Yorkville section of Manhattan, at 3:40 a.m.

Authorities said that the attacker, a man that the victim did not know, forced his way into the woman’s apartment before raping her.

The victim was transported to Lenox Hill Hospital in stable condition.

Police released surveillance images of the rapist late Saturday night, which shows him wearing a green jacket, white shirt and blue jeans.

A woman who lives nearby told 1010 WINS that the attack is beyond worrying.

“You know what, there’s so much to be concerned about, I’m at the maximum level of concern that I’m almost numb,” she said.

There have been no arrests, and the NYPD’s Manhattan Special Victims Squad is investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
