Suspect drags and brakes victim’s arm during Manhattan robbery, NYPD says

MANHATTAN N.Y. (PIX11) – Officers are looking for a suspect who is accused of stealing $1,400 of goods from a 54-year-old female victim, dragging her, and breaking her arm in the process, authorities said.

NYPD officers say the incident happened on August 31, 2024.

A female victim was sitting at a bar located at 363 West Broadway in Manhattan. An unidentified male approached the victim and attempted to remove the victim’s pocketbook off of the chair next to her, police said.

The victim refused to give up her pocketbook. She attempted to retain her purse and held on to her possessions. The suspect began dragging the woman with the bag and broke her left arm as he tried to take the pocketbook, police said.

The suspect fled with $1,400 worth of personal items and fled to parts unknown, authorities said.

The 54-year-old female victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.

She is expected to survive, police said.
