Man seen stealing from Manhattan box trucks in broad daylight

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Friday released photos of a man seen stealing from Manhattan box trucks in broad daylight in Manhattan since last year, authorities said.

The first incident happened at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, when the suspect approached a box truck that was parked in front of 422 West 16th St. in the Meatpacking District.

According to officials, the suspect took approximately $1,134 worth of property and fled the location in a 2020 gray Acura RDX SUV, traveling eastbound on West 16th Street.

The second incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, when the suspect approached a box truck that was parked in front of 594 8th Ave. near Times Square.

The suspect removed approximately $500 worth of property and fled the location on foot, traveling southbound on 8th Avenue, cops said.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, police later identified the suspect as 41-year-old Carlo Longhi.
