BROWNSVILLE – A 16-year-old boy, unnamed due to his age, was arrested for the violent August rape of a 22-year-old woman in Brownsville, according to police on Oct. 1. He faces seven charges, including rape and sexual abuse in the first degree and criminal obstruction of breathing. Initial descriptions had identified the perpetrator as an adult man. Police said at the time that the rapist had engaged the victim in conversation before pushing her to the ground and forcing himself on her before fleeing, causing her injuries that required treatment at a nearby hospital.
