Separate overnight NYC shootings leave 1 man dead, another critically injured

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Separate overnight shootings in Brooklyn and Manhattan early Saturday morning left one man dead and another hospitalized in critical condition, the NYPD said.

The fatal shooting occurred not long before 4 a.m. on Tilden Avenue, near Flatbush Avenue, in Flatbush.

Police responded to the location after receiving reports of a shooting and found a 27-year-old man struck multiple times. Six shell casings and one live round were recovered at the scene, police said.

EMS took the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County where he was pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending proper family notification, police said.

About two hours before the fatal shooting, another man, 40, was rushed to the hospital after being struck by gunfire in Harlem.

Multiple calls reported shots fired just across the street from the 32nd Precinct station house, located on 135th Street between Frederick Douglass and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. boulevards, at about 2 a.m.
