A 72-year-old woman was fatally stabbed and her 47-year-old son was hospitalized after they were both attacked by a relative inside their Brooklyn apartment, police and neighbors said.
Cops responding to the bloody assault on Bedford Ave. near Ave. U in Sheepshead Bay about 9:30 a.m. Friday found both 72-year-old Malka Semenduyeva and a 47-year-old man, believed to be her son, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Both victims were taken to Coney Island Hospital, where Semenduyeva died, cops said. The male victim was expected to survive.
Their attacker, believed to be another son, fled the scene.
Neighbors told News 12 Brooklyn that Semenduyeva was deaf and that she and her son were attacked by another son who is known to have a drug problem and beg for change in the neighborhood.
“I saw the brother come out,” neighbor Slava Simburg said. “[He] was bleeding, it was covering his face. Then I saw [the suspect] come out and he was covered in blood but not injured and you could see [blood] was everywhere.”
