Manhattan’s skyline was disrupted by towering smoke today as a fierce inferno engulfed the roof of The Set, a plush apartment complex in Hudson Yards. Flames were seen tearing through the building’s rooftop as the clock struck just before noon.
Fire brigades bolted to the scene on 10th Avenue and West 35th Street following the outbreak. Social media was abuzz with eyewitness accounts and visual evidence of the conflagration.

Videos and stills showed the thick black smoke billowing into the heavens, visible for miles and marking New York’s sky. A formidable contingent of around 80 firefighters from the New York Fire Department (NYFD) leaped into action to confront the blaze, reports the Mirror .
As per Council Member Erik Bottcher’s latest update via Twitter: “From Hudson Yards management: ‘Earlier today a smoke condition occurred at 455 10th Avenue. The situation has been fully contained and there are no injuries. The FDNY has called an ‘all clear’ and is departing the scene.'”.
